Framed photograph of architect John Maule, 24 March 1857
Description
Portrait photograph in a frame of the architect John Maule. Maule is shown seated and leaning on a covered table. He wears a top hat (?), cravat, white shirt with upturned collar, waistcoat, jacket and trousers. Image is covered in a glass and copper (?) frame with floral motifs. Frame has a hanging loop. Kept in a velvet-lined box, the lid of which says "Prepared by George Edward Allshorn, Homeopathic Chemist, Successor to William Headland, 63 Hanover Street, Edinburgh, from whom all works on homeopathy may be had".
