George Tutill's set up a banner making business in 1837, moved to 83 City Road London in 1859. A patent was taken out for coating the silk with India Rubber in 1861 and in the 1880's installed the largest Jaquard loom in the world. Tutill's produced thousands of banners for many different organisations.
