Description
A street scene showing an assortment of buildings at various heights. On the left a tall chapel is separated from the pavement by a high wall. The church building has decorated pinnacles at the corners of its roof and large tracery windows. On the opposite side of the road, laundry is strung from a high window. In the centre of the street a man is sweeping the ground and nearby women gather to talk.

Lady Glenorchy's Chapel was built in 1772 and demolished in 1845. It was replaced with a church in Roxburgh Place. It stood on the present day Glenorchy Place, behind Edinburgh's Omni Centre, Greenside Place.
