One blue ribbed silk banner for the St. Crispin Society, 1819.
Description
One blue ribbed silk banner for the St.Crispin Society, with painted identical decoration on both sides, rolled around wooden pole and tacked into place. The banner has a gold silk fringe on three sides. The title scroll banner is in a cartouche and reads, 'DUCIT AMOR REGIS ET PATRIAE (top) 1449 (bottom) (black on pink). The centre panel features the Cordiners coat of arms with bejewelled crown over a Shoemakers' half-moon knife' on a cream background.
