The Amalgamated Engineering Union
formed 1851 as Amalgamated Society of Engineers. The society changed its name to the Amalgamated Engineering Union in 1920. The organisation amalgamated in 1968 with foundry unions to form the Amalgamated Union of Engineering Workers.
