Queensferry Crossing
These stunning photographs show the construction work and development of the Queensferry Crossing as it emerged out of the Forth. The pictures document the progress of the bridge building project and date from 2014 to 2017.

The Queensferry Crossing opened in August 2017. The 1.7 miles (2.7km) structure is the longest three-tower, cable-stayed bridge in the world. The overall Forth Replacement Crossing scheme is 13.7 miles (22km) long, including major motorway upgrades to the north and south and also the first use in Scotland of variable mandatory speed limits to smooth traffic congestion.

The Forth Road Bridge is dedicated for public transport use, cycling and walking. Find out more about the history of the Forth Road Bridge and view amazing pictures of its construction in our exhibition, Forth Road Bridge and Queensferry Crossing.

You can find out more about the Queensferry Crossing project and history from the Forth Bridges website.

We're delighted to host these images of the Queensferry Crossing on Capital Collections and are indebted to Transport Scotland for sharing their pictures with us.
