From 29th January to 7th February 2014, an exhibition of chinese lanterns, 'The Lanterns of Terracotta Warriors' was on display at the University of Edinburgh's Old College Quad.
The lanterns were originally commissioned for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. It was inspired by the 'terracotta warriors' discovered in 1974 when the tomb of the 3rd Century BC Chinese emperor Qin Shi Huang was found in Xi'an.
The lanterns are handmade by traditional processes and lit from within to create a stunning display.
