Edinburgh and the Olympic Torch Relay 2012

The Olympic Torch Relay for the London 2012 games arrived in Edinburgh on the 13th June 2012. This collection of photographs shows the excitement felt by the people of Edinburgh as the torch journeyed around the city before heading east and making its way out of the city the following morning, passing through Musselburgh on its way to the Borders of Scotland.
The Torch began its journey at Lands End on the 19th May 2012. The torch passed through 1,019 different communities, spread across England, Scotland, Wales, Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, and reached its final destination, the Olympic Stadium in London, on the 27th of July where the games began.
