Edinburgh Swimming Pools
Edinburgh Swimming Pools
Victorian Edinburgh was awash with local bathing pools, built in an effort to stop the spread of disease. This exhibition features images of the beautiful architectural interiors of some of Edinburgh's swimming pools including Warrender Park and Infirmary Street Baths. It also features a fascinating collection of images of the construction of the long-gone Portobello Open Air Pool and of it's use up until the 1970s. This exhibition complements Scran's online exhibition - Making Waves: a history of swimming pools in Scotland.
