This exhibition features Edinburgh brewery advertising material from the Scottish and Newcastle Collection belonging to Tom Cook, including beer mats, bottle labels, photographs and other ephemera. Over 40 breweries existed in Edinburgh during the nineteenth century making it one of the largest local industries. The breweries covered in this exhibition include William McEwan's; Robert and William Younger's; T & J Bernard's; William Murray's; and J & J Morison. These breweries were sited all over Edinburgh at Abbeyhill; Canongate; Craigmillar; Fountainbridge and Leith.
