Some of the greatest heroes of little boys in the 1950's were cowboys - Roy Rodgers, Davy Crockett, the cisco Kid, Hop Along Cassidy, the Lone Ranger, Zorro....
Inspired by both cinema and television, the cowboy craze and the demand for related toys was enormous. Weapons, dressing up outfits, action figures, as well as books and comics featuring cowboys appeared in most households.
