Biography
MECOPP (Minority Ethnic Carers of People Project) is a Scottish charity that assists Black and Minority Ethnic carers to access the support and services necessary to undertake or sustain their caring role.
We provide advice and information in different languages; advocacy and casework services; education and training opportunities; individual and group support and practical support in the home. We also deliver a number of specific projects.
MECOPP supports its mainstream statutory and voluntary sector partners through input into service, policy and workforce development. In working with individual beneficiaries, MECOPP supports carers to achieve positive outcomes based on improved physical and emotional wellbeing, improved financial health, increased social capital and a better caring/life balance. We also provide support to former carers to enable them to reconnect to their community.
