Description
Many people walk over the cobbled road at the corner of East London Street and Broughton Street, Edinburgh. A rounded tenement building occupies the corner site and its ground floor is home to P. Dunbar, bakers and Cormack Brothers, Grocers. The ladies are all wearing long skirts and hats.

Broughton was originally a separate village to the north of Edinburgh. It became absorbed into the city during Edinburgh's northward expansion in the 18th and 19th centuries.
