Somerville's Land was a timber and stone tenement dating from 1580, which had belonged to Bartholomew Somerville, benefactor of Edinburgh University, in the 17th century. It was demolished in the 1880s. Various shops were housed in the building including Taylor's shoe maker and Liberton Tower Dairy.
