In another depiction of pastoral idealism the flower figure in this image is shown to be living harmoniously alongside the animals and living off the land. Furthermore Crane continues to comment on fashion by showing the figure to be wearing more practical clothing that is better suited for agricultural work.

Crane's enjoyment of wordplay is again demonstrated here as the ox gazes with its ox-eye daisy eyes.
