This illustration of the Lilies of the Vale readily reinforces the integration Crane sought between the figure and the flower. This can be seen in the likeness and symmetry of the women's arms with the bending stalks, as well the way in which the leaves are wrapped around their bodies.

Again the classical influence is clear through the posing, hair, dress and styling of the figures.
