Notes
Ink is a coloured liquid used for writing or drawing with a pen, or used in printing. Inks can be used for line works or washes. Ink works are often have an appearance of spontaneity as mistakes cannot be easily undone.
Western artists are likely to hold their ink pen or brush like a paintbrush, but Chinese and Japanese artists traditionally hold the brush vertically, allowing for strokes in all directions and giving more control.
