Robert Tod, of Alex & Robert Tod, Millers & Corn merchants, Flour mills, Commercial Street. Office at West Junction Street.
Brothers Alex and Robert Tod, built the millers and corn merchants business. The original company was destroyed by fire in 1874 but without delay a new larger mill and warehouses were constructed to be fire proof on the same site. Robert Tod was the director of Leith Hospital for many years as well as being the founder of Magdalene Home, and was active with various charities. He died aged 71.
