Ron Brown was a Labour MP for Edinburgh and Leith from 1979-1992.
He was banned from the House of Commons 3 times , the most notable of these when in 1988 he threw the the mace in the House of Commons during a debate on the Poll Tax. He was banned for 20 day's and had to pay a £1,500 repair bill. He was expelled by Labour in 1991. He died in 2007 after a long illness.
