Also known as the Miller Mausoleum, the Craigentinny Marbles were built as a tomb and monument to William Henry Christie Miller.
Miller, a Member of Parliament, owned Craigentinny House and its surrounding estate. He left instructions that after his death in 1848, a classical tomb should be constructed in a field on his estate. This was completed in 1856. Today the site is surrounded by bungalows built in the 1930s.
