Major Playfair, St Andrews
Description
Major Hugh Lyon Playfair, an elderly gentleman with long sideburns is standing, holding a walking stick in his right hand and leaning on a chair with his left elbow. He is wearing a dark morning coat, waistcoat, light coloured trousers with drop-front or "falls" construction and a necktie. The wooden chair has a cushion and a black hat on it.
