This is the crest and motto of the Order, from 'The Oblate Fathers in Leith; 1849 to 1984.' Typescript history of the work at St Mary's Star of the Sea.
The Oblates of Mary Immaculate is a religious order founded in 1816 by Saint Eugene de Mazenod, a priest from Marseilles, with the intention of reviving the Roman Catholic Church after the French Revolution, and later known for its missionary work.
