Watt's Hospital was an old people's home opened in 1862 on the site of the old Golf House. W & A K Johnston's map of 1861 shows Golf House just west of it. It is now replaced by Leith Academy.
John A Lindsay (1865-1942) was Provost of Leith from 1917-1920. He was the last in a line of provosts of Leith going back to 1833.
