This home-made magazine was edited by Ruth Dent who was aged about 16 when war broke out. The magazines were produced quarterly for four years. Ruth's friends contributed articles and drawings and the magazine was sent between friends every two days. Ruth lived in Edinburgh before moving to Hampshire and Pierrot was perhaps her way of staying connected with her Edinburgh friends. The artistic skills of Ruth and her friends are obvious throughout the magazine and it is no surprise that Ruth herself went on to study at Edinburgh College of Art.
