Description
Four paper flags mounted on metal pins. Printed in colour. From left: Navy blue rectangular flag with circular emblem, words reading 'For King And Empire/ Services Rendered'; shield-shaped paper flag on metal pin featuring arms of Leith, words reading: 'Leith Hospital Saturday/ 12th June 1915'; shield-shaped paper flag on metal pin, words reading 'To Help The Leith Hospital'; rectangular paper flag on metal pin featuring Saltire, thistle and four crowns.

Paper charity flags on pins were distributed throughout the War in return for donations to local and national charities. They were issued on the street by volunteer collectors. Metal or cloth flags were sometimes issued, as were artificial flowers. The flags were generally worn on coat lapels, often many at a time.
