The Golden Bay was a block cement and coal-carrying motor ship built by Henry Robb, shipbuilders, Leith for Associated Portland Cement. She was launched by Mrs G H E Vivian on the 27th of August 1953 and sailed on the 6th of June 1954.
The text in the newspaper cutting says 'Picnic Time: Members of the Leith Thule Club sailed up the Forth for their outing in 1912. In front of the group is solicitor Mr T M Pole, who had an office in Constitution Street, and two rows above him is Peter Halcrow (wearing the felt hat), who had two licensed grocers' shops in Edinburgh. Thule was the most northern part of Europe as described in ancient fables. Most of the club members had Shetland connections.'
