Banner of protest which was displayed outside the office of the Leith Observer in Tolbooth Wynd at the time of the plebiscite in 1920. The amalgamation went ahead despite the result of the plebiscite, in which 5357 votes were cast in favour of amalgamation and 29,891 against.
