The photographs in this exhibition were kindly loaned to us by Bill Hall for our digital collections. It contains images dating from the early 1900s to the 1980s, taken across Scotland.
Brought up in Edinburgh he has collected many family photographs and items covering his mother's early years and his own boyhood.
Bill's Great Uncle Archie Tait, was a ploughman at Wilkie's Basin in Ratho. He joined the Lovat Scouts in 1915. When the war ended, Archie joined Edinburgh Police as a mounted policeman and on retirement worked as a doorman at Register House.
