Vise was one of the first points of resistance the German Army met in their journey into Belgium. Belgians destroyed bridges over the Meuse river and fired heavily on the pontoons the German troops attempted to cross on. Germany suffered heavy losses but eventually took Vise. This image shows the camp they set up near the town after the action.
