A cutting from the Scotsman news paper on 8th June 1933 depicting the continued maintenance of the Victorian filtration system at Alnwick Hill filters. The cutting reads 'EDINBURGH WATER SUPPLY. - The extensive filter beds at Alnwickhill, near Edinburgh for the purification of the city's water supply. Workmen are seen carrying out the regular cleaning of the sand used in the process.... Behind the high ground on the right is the main collecting reservoir from which the water flows for final filtration.'
