This was site 4 of 5 proposed sites for the new City Hall, in the official report, by the Town Clerk, Thomas Hunter, and the City Architect, Robert Morham, 'on the proposed sites for the New City Hall to be erected under Mr. Usher's Gift'. Note, the actual Lothian Road site is not included in this report on 'Five Suggested Sites', dated 30th September 1898.
This site has public access on three sides and coverage of 4478 square yards.
