St Mary's Episcopal cathedral, a Grade A listed building, is the largest cathedral in Scotland. It stands on Palmerston Place and it's spires have dominated the city's western skyline since 1879. It was designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott who was famed for his part in the revival of gothic architecture in the mid 1800's. He also designed St Mary's cathedral Glasgow, the main building of Glasgow University and St Pancras station, London.
