Pioneer motorists line up at the rear entrance to the Mansion House on Corstorphine Hill. This house would become part of the Edinburgh Zoological Park.

Handwritten text attached to the back of the framed print reads, 'The photograph was taken from plate glass negative. The car second from the right, with the registration S7 belonged to the great-grandfather Inglis (man with beard in picture) of a member of staff who works at Edinburgh Zoo's sister zoo park, the Highland Wildlife Park (2013). His other great-grandfather Webster, owned car with registration S11. These were the 7th and 11th cars to be registered in Scotland.
