Description
20th Feb: "Grand Hotel Du Louvre", Boulogne.
Such a day of it we've had! At break of day - to-day only! - the first contingent of us, in all 27, sleepily found our way to Victoria Station, burdened low with over-coats, haversacks, water bottles &all the rest of it - all dear old familiar friends, always to be found "on" us!! It was pitch dark & oh so cold at Victoria Station, as we entrained at 6.30a.m. & none of us were "on the top" of our form! However we set off merrily & had a rousing send off; the Committee, lots of the old Unit & numerous "friends & relations" being present to see us away. What bricks some people are, to turn up at 6.30a.m. on a dark, cold winter morning, to see a crowd of hooligans off on "active service"!!

We had a quick run down to Folkestone, had a couple of hours there, lots of time for lunch and lots of time to inspect each other! With us is Dr. B. our new C.O., also Dr. C. my old "C.O." of "B" Hospital in Russia, also Miss G. our administrator & M. our dispenser, who was also in Russia & is now an officer. We are chiefly Hospital with this lot, there being only 8 Transport
