Ferdinando Ongania [1842 - 1911] was an Italian antiquarian bookseller, with a shop in St. Mark's Square in Venice. From 1861 until his death in 1911 he devoted himself almost entirely to the printing of illustrated art books. His love of Venice inspired him to record the architecture of his beloved city.
A view of Palazzo Papadopoli in Venice. Built at the end of XVI century by architect Gian Giacomo dei Gigi for the Coccina family. After being owned by different aristocrat families and being the site of the institute for marine sciences, it now hosts a luxury hotel.
