Ferdinando Ongania [1842 - 1911] was an Italian antiquarian book seller,with a shop in St. Mark's Square in Venice. From 1861 until his death in 1911 he devoted himself almost entirely to the printing of illustrated art books. His love of Venice inspired him to record the architecture of his beloved city.
Description for this print from the original index page from the publication:
"Church founded in the earliest period of Venice, and rebuilt between 1728 and 1736. The poet Andrea Calmo and the composers G. A. Hasse and R. Wagner lived in the neighbouring Vendramin Palace."
