The Needle stands around 36m (120ft) high, one of several distinctive rock features, other notable features being The Table and The Prison, which make up the Quiraing. The Quiraing is a hill range in the Trotternish Peninsula on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. The Quiraing has been formed over many generations from a combination of volcanic activity and landslips, it is still in a state of movement and the roads at its base require regular maintenance because of this.
