Knicky V Teddy
Description
Front view of a hand knitted teddy bear. The teddy was made from 3ply brown wool and stuffed with old cut up knickers and vests. The ears are knitted with inverted triangles. The eyes are decorative black buttons. The nose and moth are stitched with embroidered tan wool. The arms and legs are jointed by means of elastic. The neck is sewn on to the body. The teddy wears an orange textured tie.

The teddy was donated with a hand written label which says: 'Made 1944, stuffed with old cut up knickers & vests - Hense the name Knicky V'. On the reverse of the label: 'Teddy bear mascot to A.T.S. 1943-1946, companion to Socky'.
Socky is another hand knitted bear that can be seen on Capital Collections.
