Biography
Victoria Primary is the oldest working school in Edinburgh having served the village of Newhaven since 1844. It plays an important part in the life of the community and is very proud of its history and heritage.
The exhibition, 'Newhaven: That was then, this is now' was a project undertaken by a young group of photographers from Victoria Primary School. A group of pupils aged 6 to 11 were supported by Project Leader Jacqui Cowley and Headteacher Laura Thomson to recreate images found on Capital Collections. They enlisted help from fellow school pupils, and members of the community to produce contemporary versions of archival photographs.
