Ramsay Lodge stands immediately to the north of Castle Hill in Edinburgh. The poet Alan Ramsay designed and built it as his home in the mid 18th century. In the late 19th century Ramsay Gardens, designed by Sir Patrick Geddes, were built around Ramsay Lodge.
