The handles and finials (knobs) on this teapot were made by casting and then were soldered on to the main body using a soldering torch. Hollow three dimensional objects like this teapot are made by a process called 'rasing' where a flat sheet of silver is hammered over a shaped 'stake' or anvil to form the curved base and sides of the object.
