Description
Flag of light blue-green silk with design painted in mirror image on each side and a cream silk fringe. Title scroll, UNITED CABINET AND CHAIR MAKERS; in the centre, blindfolded Justice with scales seated on a sideboard holding a cornucopia overflowing with fruit; two cabinet makers as supporters on each side, wearing early 19th century clothing. The left side figure holding a set square and a jack plane and the right side figure holding pair of dividers and a hand saw; clasped hands in a cloud above; thistles, roses and shamrocks to each side. Motto scroll, LET TYRANTS TREMBLE WHILE JUSTICE HOLDS THE SCALES; Union flag in top left corner. Carried in 1832 by the United Cabinet and Chairmakers Trade Union.
