Description
The houses of Doune village lie in between fields and hills and have smoke rising from their chimneys. A large tower rises above the buildings in the village. In the foreground is a solitary cottage which has a road nearby.

Doune Castle is situated close to the village of Doune, a few miles west of Dunblane. It was built in the late 14th century for Robert Stewart, the 1st Duke of Albany. It is currently run by Historic Environment Scotland and is open to the public.
