The Hispaniola Restaurant has a façade with wooden panelling. On top of the building is a protruding balustrade with an arched panel in the middle. The building is symmetrical with a door at either side and four windows. A portrait is hung in each window.

Rutherford's Bar was established on this site in 1834. One of its regulars was Robert Louis Stevenson. The wooden façade was designed by the architect James Macintyre Henry in 1899. The pub continued to trade as Rutherford's until 2007 when it was sold and turned into an Italian restaurant.
