A detail of the semi-circular top half of one of the iron gates.Through the gates Dunsyre House is visible. It is one of the 12 storey high flats in the Calder area of Edinburgh. Each of the 3 high flats in this area have such gated entrances.

The last of the three Calders multi-stories to be completed in 1970 by Crudens. Like the others it takes its name from a hill in the Pentlands. Like them too it has 136 flats : 40 two apartments and 96 three apartments. It was reclad and upgraded in the late 1980s.
The area in front of each of the Calders multi-stories was improved.New adventure playgrounds were created and these gates were commission and erected.
