In the fore-front of this picture is a large red climbing frame. It stands at the corner of a raised play area .The picture shows two sides of what may be a squared play area. Immediately behind are a number of verticle concrete slabs in an irregular row. Shop fronts can be glimpsed beyond this. In the background are houses and Cobbinshaw House, a large tower block with distinctive grey and white pattern. It is a cloudy day.

Cobbinshaw with its links to the Pentland Hills, is one of the three multi-storey flats that make up the Calders developments. It was designed and constructed by Crudens in 1968 and overclad and upgraded in the late 1980s.There are 136 flats, 40 two apartments and 96 three appartment homes.
In 1989 there was a competion to improve the facilities for children and as a result "Sunshine" adventure playgrounds were created .
