Description
Members of the Edinburgh Fire Brigade pose for a portrait on the High Street. They are mostly wearing firemen's uniforms consisting of white canvas trousers, double breasted jackets and hardened leather helmets. Two men in the middle have top hats on. A policeman in uniform also stands to the right hand side. Several of the firemen are standing on top of a fire engine at the back of the crowd. A tall set of ladders can be seen at the left hand side. Two men are sitting at one of the tenement windows in the background.
