Life on the Home Front in World War 2 involved many hardships. One of the things that made life difficult for children was the rationing of sweets. Shortages of ingredients and manpower made confectionery scarce, and the Government added it to the list of rationed items in July 1942. Confectionery rationing only ended in February 1953 thats more than a decade of limited sweeties!
