Biography
Kenner a division of General Mills Fun Group, Inc.
Kenner Products was founded in Cincinnati, USA in 1947 by three brothers, Albert, Phillip and Joseph Steiner.
They introduced a number of successful toys including the Spirograph pattern-making toy in 1966. In 1967, the company was purchased by General Mills. From 1977 - 1985, Kenner held the rights to produce Star Wars action figures and playsets. The toys were a runaway success.
In 1985, general Mills spun off its Kenner and Parker toy divisions to form Kenner Parker Toys, Inc. This was acquired by Tonka in 1987. By mid-1991, Tonka had been purchased by Hasbro.
