Biography
Born in Loanhead of Guthrie. Melville moved to East Linton at an early age. He studied at the RSA, and at academie Julien, Paris.
First visited the near East in 1881 and Algeria (with Brangwyn) in 1892.
Also a member of the Glasgow School.
